Welcome to Ryecroft!
We are very pleased that you are interested in Ryecroft C. E. ( C ) Middle School and hope that you will find the information on this website helpful.
Ryecroft is situated between the villages of Rocester and Denstone close to the attractive River Dove and Churnet Valley and overlooking a lake and the beautiful Weaver Hills.
This school is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled Co-educational Middle School meeting the needs of boys and girls from aged 9-13. Our catchment area includes the villages of Mayfield, Ellastone, Wootton, Alton, Rocester and Denstone and we also receive pupils from other surrounding villages. FREE home to school transport is provided for many of our pupils.
As a relatively small Middle School, we can take pride in our knowledge of each child and the caring and positive atmosphere within the school. We believe that our school provides the smoothest possible transition from the class-based organisation of the First School to the specialised subject-based curriculum of the High School.
Your child will change out of all recognition as they move through the 9-13 age range, not only physically but also emotionally, spiritually and in their understanding of the world. This change is reflected in our school motto “where children grow”. We are confident that we can support each child through this critical period in their life.
We care about achievement and we have high expectations of all children attending this school. We want your child to leave us as a confident individual who has self-discipline, a caring attitude towards the community in which they live and who shows respect for others.
We aim to be an outstanding school with Christian values at the heart of our community, where all children thrive and where we all support each other to achieve our full potential.
The best way to discover more about Ryecroft is to visit the school – please click HERE to email requesting a visit or call us to make a mutually convenient appointment.
We look forward to meeting you and your child.
