Christian Distinctiveness

“Ryecroft CofE Middle School has a strong Christian ethos and character.  Pupils embrace the school's values...they learn to listen to each other, respect one another and show kindness to all,” Ofsted 2022

At Ryecroft our values embody all that we do.  Each half term we focus one of our Christian values, we consider and reflect on why these are important, and what Christianity teaches us about them.

Care and Community – We listen to each other, respect one another and show kindness to all.
Matthew 5:42 – ‘"Give to those who ask, and don’t refuse those who wish to borrow from you."

Perseverance – We work hard, we do not give up easily, we help one another.
Proverbs 4:25 - “Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.”

Humility – We show appreciation for what we are given, and give our best at all times.
Ephesians 4:2 – ‘”Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”

Inspiration – We aspire to be our best, we play by the rules, we are polite and courteous.
Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you to give you a future and hope.”

Trust – We are honest, we do not make excuses.
John 14:27 – “Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

We gather for whole school collective worship led by Jordan, Beth and our teachers, who help us to reflect on the value we are focussing on each half term.  Our GLOW worship team meet weekly with Jordan, our Christian youth worker to explore their faith more deelply and to plan opportunities to share their own faith and practice with the rest of our school.  During form time we consider our school values and how we can apply these to our own lives.

As a Church school we aim to develop every child spiritually, morally, socially and academically so that they may flourish in all aspects of their lives.
