Child-Friendly Safeguarding Guide

At Ryecroft, our Christian vision reminds us that every child is unique, valued and loved by God. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where all children can flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, respected, listened to and supported. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do and is everyone's responsibility. We want every child to know that they are never alone, that their voice matters and that there will always be someone ready to listen and help.

Our Child-Friendly Safeguarding Guide has been created to help pupils understand what safeguarding means in a way that is clear, accessible and age appropriate. The guide explains:

Children are encouraged to speak to any trusted adult in school if they have a worry or concern. They do not need to face problems alone, and they will always be taken seriously.

Safeguarding Policies and Guidance

Safeguarding is central to our commitment to ensuring that every child at Ryecroft C.E. Middle School is safe, valued and able to flourish. Alongside our Child-Friendly Safeguarding Guide, you will find our full Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and the statutory government guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) available below. These documents outline the responsibilities of schools, staff, governors and other professionals in promoting the welfare of children and protecting them from harm. We encourage parents, carers and members of our wider school community to familiarise themselves with these important documents, which underpin our safeguarding practice and our commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all.
